50 Days of Prayer

The number (50) fifty derives its meaning from its relationship to the coming of God’s Holy Spirit. In the New Testament, the word Pentecost comes from the Greek word [Pentēkonta] which means (50) fifty. The number (50) fifty also symbolizes deliverance or freedom from a burden. There are many things that have been burdensome this school year at Pine Forge Academy and we all want to be free of these issues. We, the Pine Forge Academy Parents Association (PFAPA) leadership are calling you to war!

All members and affiliates of the Pine Forge Academy Parents Association (PFAPA) are challenged to pray (3) three times per day starting Sunday, October 1, 2023, until the end of the Fall 2023 Parents Weekendwhich is Sunday, November 19, 2023. This will be (50) fifty days of prayer.  In the prayers, we are only asking for the power of the Holy Spirit to fall and fill us [Families, Parents, Students, Faculty/Staff, Administration on all levels, Neighborhood/community around the campus, Stakeholders/Supporters current/potential]. We will thank the Lord in advance for what we need and know He can do. Example:

  1. We thank you lord in advance for all the funding to renovate the dorms and other buildings that need repairs and upgrades to be given and not require debt.
  2. We thank you in advance for increased student enrollment to the point where there is a waiting list.
  3. We thank you in advance for the students being self-motivated to do their work, do their best, and not be on academic probation.
  4. We thank you in advance that all the children and staff will hear the voice of your Holy Spirit and pursue a personal relationship with you Lord to be saved.

Supporting scriptures to incorporate in your prayers along with others that you may choose to use:

  • Isaiah 30:18-22 – New Living Translation

18   So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

19   O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious if you ask for help.

He will surely respond to the sound of your cries.
20   Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink, he will still be with you to teach you.
You will see your teacher with your own eyes.
21   Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,”

whether to the right or to the left.
22  Then you will destroy all your silver idols and your precious gold images.
You will throw them out like filthy rags, saying to them, “Good riddance!”

  • Psalm 22:3-5 – New Living Translation

3   Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
4   Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them.
5   They cried out to you and were saved. They trusted in you and were never disgraced.

  • Luke 11:10-13 – New Living Translation

10   For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 “You fathers—if your children ask[a] for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? 12 Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! 13 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”
